P/N 1058, Optional Spacer Kit: The optional spacer kit is designed to reduce a factory Ford 16mm hole to 14mm to prevent rear suspension movement which leads to noise. The factory Ford chassis mount features a 16mm hole while using a 14mm bolt. This hole slop leads to noise during acceleration and braking. The stepped spacers reduce the hole size from 16mm to 14mm. Note: Spacer kit is designed to work with the factory upper control arm mount. Most aftermarket mounts feature the corrected 14mm hole. .

The S197 Mustang chassis uses a 3-link rear suspension system which consists of one upper control arm, two lower control arms and a panhard bar to control the rear end under the vehicle. Under hard loads the factory pieces tend to flex and rubber bushings deflect leading to poor traction and erratic handling. Replacing the factory pieces with stronger well designed items eliminates this flex allowing for better control of the vehicle and improved traction during launches. UMI’s control arm kit includes one rear upper control arm and a set of heavy duty boxed lower control arms. Control arm kit is built from 1/8” wall thickness USA steel tubing, MIG welded fabrication, glossy high quality powder coat finish and assembled with the premium greaseable polyurethane bushings. Installation is bolt in and uses factory hardware.
